Need Relationship Advice
|
|
I recently was the best man at my cousin's wedding. I was paired up with the bride's beautiful sister, who was maid of honor. We hit it off really well. We flirted back and forth, and I thought we really made a connection. She's pretty, smart, funny, and felt really good on my arm while I escorted her down the aisle. There's just one problem though, I found out the day after the wedding that she's engaged to another guy. I can't stop thinking about this girl. I don't know what to do. My head is telling me that her boyfriend seems like a nice enough guy, and if they've got a good thing going I don't want to screw it up for her. Yet, in my heart I can't help the way I feel about her. I think I'm in love. My question is should I tell her how I feel, or is it best to just forget about her and move on?

Wow...that is a really good question! You're pretty much in love with someone who is already engaged to another guy. You don't know if you should tell this girl how you feel or just move on. Well, she is engaged to another guy, but according to your post is sounded like she was flirting with you. This could just be the way she is or she might like you just a little bit. My advice would be to tell her how you feel and see what her response is. However, in the end you will probably have to move on since she is already taken.

I say leave it alone. It doesn't sound like you know her THAT well, and... yeah, it's too soap opera. She's engaged for a reason.

MSN had a lists of four signs that a woman is interested. She matches all four. 1.) Dressing nicer 2.) licking her upper lip with her tongue 3.) brushing her hair back with her fingers 4.) When she talks her feet are facing directly toward you
I know she's way out of my league. I least one interesting tidbit in my favor. Her family apparently doesn't like the guy, they just tolerate him for her benefit. He's also dragging his feet about setting a date. I think I'll just keep my mouth shut and see how it plays out.

I don't know where I read this or heard this, but it would be on my list of top pieces of advice for life:
"Love like you'll never be hurt."
If you dig her, let her know.

I'm actually going to be seeing her again real soon. Her sister, who married my cousin, has a birthday coming up during the first week in August, and we'll be throwing a bash for her. Maybe I should see what kind of vibes she's giving off that night?

if her sister married your cousin...and you end up getting with her....wouldn't that mess up the status of you and your cousin's title of relationship? you'd be like...what...brothers in law twice removed or some [censored]....cripes I'm going cross-eyed just thinking about it.

I still think it's a horrible, horrible idea. Sounds more like lust at first sight than love.

I'm kind of in one of those situations right now too... i've chosen to just keep my mouth shut and see how things play out and try not to get too bummed but i'm expecting rejection so that's why i'm not doin anything like that lol
but i'd see her reactions to you at the birthday party and if u keep picking up the vibes, tell her! it can't hurt.
and as for the whole cousin sister thinger bit... my mom's sister married my dad's cousin. it doesnt quite sound right, but there is nothing wrong with that. lol

I personally like to avoid the pain and heart ache involved in confronting the issue. The last 3 girls I've really liked have all had boyfriends called Ben and they've all been serious relationships. Admitting my feelings seemed like a futile gesture so I just left it. I've just taken the position of trying be involved in their lives anyway I can and only act when their relationships finish. My advice is to wait and see what happens. I'm not a carpe diem kind of guy.

I think it's a lose/lose situation. If she's actually interested in you and she's still entertaining her fiancee, what does that say about her? And if she's not, you're just screwing yourself.

Let me pose it a different way, you're engaged to a person, and suddenly you find out you have a secret admirer. Would his/her identity be something that you'd want to know before making a decision to spend the rest of your life with someone?
They say when you meet the right person its something you just know. We were side by side for three days, and maybe it was just the excitement of the wedding I don't know. I guess I'll know more a week from tomorrow.

I personally wouldn't wanna know. 'Cause if you're engaged to the right person, you don't care who your admirer is.

True. I've actually got another wedding to go to this weekend. A guy I went to high school with is walking down the aisle. It's possible I could find somebody completely different, and forget all about this chick I've been pining over. Which would probably be better for all involved, huh?

i think it could at least be very flattering to know that you had a secret admirer... but it might just be best to let it go because you dont need to impliment doubts in her head and ruin her relationship when there is a chance you two wouldn't work out... i dunno... i'm not in the right frame of mind for this right now
